Welcome to Huang Shan!

Huang Shan is located in the AnHui provice of China.(sounds like On Hway) The word Huang means yellow, and shan is mountain.

I'm not sure why its called yellow mountain... but I heard it has to do with a the "yellow king" or yellow god, i'm not totally sure. maybe this picture with the yellow surface explains it all

perhaps i'll get around to asking someone about that..
i went there during the summer of 2000, and got terribley burned! There were many tourists there, and several were from Japan. As i hiked, I could see miles of lines of people. they looked like ants! and they probably thought the same of me!

I hiked from about 10 am 'till 8pm without much of a rest. by the time i was through, i was ready to collapse! and i was soooo starved!

After my friend was bargaining a bus fair price, we immediately went to a hotel, showered off and ate. We had some fried rice, chicken, soup, hmmm... very delicious, especially after a long day hike. It seems that we were the only costumers there during that time so service was prompt. Please check out the other pages, i know there are about 2 pages that are not finished yet, but the rest of the links should be fine.
